My Thoughts

Ruby and Everett's brother Dashiell is a drug addict and dies of a overdose.  One night Ruby has a dream that she sees Dashiell again, Dashiell tells her to follow him and towards the end of the dream Dashiell drowns her.  Ruby wakes up and is horrified at what her brother did to her.  She loves her brother more than anything in the world.  Everette wakes up one night to Ruby talking to him and it isn't Ruby that is talking to him, its Dashiell.  Everette is super confused and freaked out.

Dashiell has to murder the person in their dreams to be apart of that person's body and that is what he did with Ruby.  Everette decides he will do they same thing for Dashiell so he can help Dashiell out.  Dashiell needs to deliver money to his pregnant girlfriend.

So Dashiell in Everette's body can now talk to Ruby.  Dashiell switches back and forth between Ruby and Dashiell.

I really thought the aspect of Dashiell possessing his brother and sister was really intriguing.  I found it really interesting that his voice would still be the same even though it was coming out of the body of his brother or sister.  Also, the way he had to get inside of their bodies, was by murdering them was also really crazy.

If you are looking for a dark Halloween read, this book is right up your alley.

I received a copy from Jean Book Nerd and Tor in exchange for an honest review.
