My Thoughts

Lake moves from Texas to Michigan with her brother, Kel and her mom.  They move there, because her mom gets a good job offer after her dad suddenly dies.  She meets Will who lives across the street and they really hit it off.  Will and Lake go on a date to a slam poetry reading.  Lake has no idea what slam poetry even is, and Will performs.  Lake is completely amazed!!

When Lake starts school the following Monday, she realizes that Will is her teacher.  They go through ups and downs to sort out their relationship.  They care so much for each other.  They bond over the death of his parents and the death of her father.  They have to figure out if they are going to continue their relationship or end it.

This book was amazing, I have never felt so emotional in a book before.  I love Lake and Will's relationship it is absolutely beautiful!  Will has been through so much, having to deal with his parents death and having to raise his little brother.  Lake also has so much to deal, with the death of her father.

I've never even heard of slam poetry before until this book.  It was fun to read the poetry within the book.  I usually don't like poetry at all, but slam poetry was really interesting and fun.

The end of this book freaking killed me!  OMG!!  I must know what happens in the next book.  I definitely recommend this book!!
